elHi Everybody!

My dad is planning on buying a new PC soon, and he's asked me to select one from a list of PCs he's given me. On looking at the hardware specs I can't really tell which one from the lot is better.

Two however have caught my eye- the Inspiron 530 and the Inspiron 531 . They differ mainly in 3 categories- Processor, Graphics Cards andChipset.

On purchasing the 530 or the 531, I can choose which Processori want for either PC from the following:

a)Intel® CoreTM 2 Duo Processor E6300 (1.86GHz,2MB L2 cache,1066MHz FSB)

b)AMD AthlonTM 64 X2 dual-core

I'd really appreciate it if you guys could tell me which one is better.

Also I can choose from either of the following Graphics Cards for my PC.

a)ExpressTM nVidia® GeForce® 7300LE TurboCache

b)256MB ATI X1300 Pro

As with the processors, I'd just like to know which one would be better.

Now for the Chipsets. The Inspiron 530 comes with only an Intel® G33 Express Chipset whereas the Inspiron 531 comes with only an Nvidia® MCP 61 Chipset.

Same as before, which Chipset do you think is better?

Lemme know if you guys need anymore information. Also, this is my first time posting something like this, so feel free to let me know about any mistakes i may have made.

Thanks!

You would need to tell what speed that AMD CPU is running at.

And even though i dont know which of the 2 graphics cards sucks more i can say that both suck immensly and if you are thinking about doing some gaming you should get a better graphics card.

Core 2 6300 will probably be the better processor option.

I agree with the above comment on the graphics card. I would sooner stick with an Intel x3100 integrated chip and buy yourself an Nvidia 7600 or 8600 (or AMD equivalent) card elsewhere. Radeon X1300 if you must, ideally go integrated and buy your own graphics card later.

I agree, get whichever card is cheapest and put in your own card. Make sure the PSU is capable though.
