I have been gaming on laptop since alienware brought its first line out. Alot of what the industry thinks about laptops and gaming has started to shift away from desktops being the only capable machines to play games on. Anyway this thread was to emphasize laptops as hardware capable of gaming. I have a few videos of my new laptop, the specs are listed below. This thread is not to discuss the differences and what makes what better between desktops and laptops, this thread is just for laptop fans that have questions regarding notebooks and gaming and or hardware.

Lenovo Ideapad Y460 • Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64 • 4 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1066MHz • 14.0" HD LED Glare 1366x768 • 500GB 5400 • DVD Recordable (Dual Layer) • ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 1GB • Industry Standard Touchpad • 6 Cell Lithium-Ion

I realize probably every person on this forum section litterly hates laptops. I get so much flack from people who cant stand to even accept laptops can game at all. I have been in many altercations and verbal arguments over the matter. heh, I will say I have owned desktops also. If you want to check out how my laptop games on some new games check out http://www.youtube.com/notebookplayer.

I feel you. I just made a thread on what laptop I should buy because i'm semi new to the PC world and in my opinion laptops are way more convenient but all I want mine for is gaming. Basically like an upgraded console, but people keep telling me to buy a desktop instead. I just prefer laptops for convenience. You should check it out an give me some input since you seem way more knowledgable on the subject haha.

This notebook costs $900. I can build a desktop for $900 that will easily steamroll this notebook. I guess a gaming notebook would be ideal for roadwarriors, but they aren't ideal for most people. They aren't nearly as upgradeable as desktops, and desktops are far cheaper.

I don't think everyone hates laptops. But, the price to pay is quite high if you want to play the latest games at close to the same clip as desktop PCs. I also game on the laptop whenever I traveled abroad. But, most of the games I played were previous generation. My laptop seems a bit slow even for that generation.

i don't hate laptop gaming. I just don't do it because i rather game on a desktop for reasons i won't explain because you probably heard em plenty. Laptops has its known advantages and they can be quite powerfull allthough very costly.
