GTA IV needs a quad core, and both those GPU's are quite dated and they were only mid-range when they came out.

Depends what you classify as "good", lol. My 460 manages 20+ fps on medium settings. A 460 with 2GB VRAM may work well with GTA IV.

Nvidia gtx 460, however getting GTA IV to work "good" is pretty hard due to its terrible coding.

Well GTA IV is a bad optimised game, even some high end card will struggle when running it. You need at least a gtx460 or HD 6850

GTX460

But you could be fine with a GTX260, and some of details lowered.

Whats your budget? Surely you can better than those graphics cards, they're old as hell.

This, then at least make the card a 9800 GTx, those things are really cheap now and very tough.

The game should run on your computer. Try it out, see if you are satisfied and come back if you ain't.

Real thread? Seriously? It's like asking if I can use a block-shaped nmt cell phone a la Gordon Gekko that is more than likely to give you tennis-elbow after prolonged use to make a phone call, yes possibly, but where would you even buy that antique?

Edit: :)

varunthom: And what do you want to do with the PC?, a gf9500___ is a awful crappy card by current standard, even when it was released it was a crappy card not really made to run games on. Well even the 9600GSO witch should be miles better than a 9500gt OC'ed is to weak of a card to use for a gaming built PC today in my opinion. The least card(s) i would use for gaming today is a HD5750/6750/HD4850/GTS250/9800GTX+ and they are constantly getting twice or more FPS than the 9600GSO. (witch is stronger than the 9500GT.) If budjet is "that" strict the HD5670 (witch is much, much better) could be a option but I would never be happy with that card in a PC made to run games as it will have to run much lower settings than I would want to run at. If you could stand playing GTA IV on the very absymal of graphic settings on a low resolution the 9500gt perhaps could do but honestly get another card if you can.

are you buying a graphics card for GTA4 only or for other games as well The minimum i recommend is at least an Ati 5750 which should allow you to play most games at high settings at 720p or even better an Ati 5770 that can run even at 1080p most games ( 5750 is about $100 and 5770 about $120 ) As for Gta in order to max it requires a quad core Cpu and a fast one that is ( poor optimization especially for dual core cpu's )
