Looking forward to it when it's cheaper. $600 is too much right now even though it does come with a fancy new 22 inch monitor.cd_rom
ill get it after they come out with a few more generations of it... for real. if i tried it right now, it would prolly end up creating alot of headaches for me...
this is one of those products that will end up having nvidia sued over, epilepsy or howerver its spelled, and cause of migrane headaches..
granted i am looking forward to it once it is worth it, but right now, it isnt. i mean they cant even get games on the pc (with way better hardware) to work as good as the same games on the console, counterpart
so im not wasting money on this at the moment to cause even more compatiblity issues, and performance instabillity.

Hmm, do you know if there is a performance hit from using these glasses?

huh?
Judging from the article though, the system was very polished. The downside is that it's pretty expensive and you need a 120hz monitor

Basically just like wearing regular sun glasses. The monitors are way cheaper and reviews have said the quality is very high. (By way cheaper I mean $399 so not really a cheap monitor)

I don't know for sure. I found it interesting that they didn't mention any performance problems other than with the 8800GT. The game is essentially rendered twice. If I had to guess, I'd say you'll be getting about half the performance you would with 2D gaming.[QUOTE="Lach0121"][QUOTE="cd_rom"]Looking forward to it when it's cheaper. $600 is too much right now even though it does come with a fancy new 22 inch monitor.Dark-Sithious

hmm maybe it does work ok then, but im not spending 600 on something i may not even like,
but i wont dismiss it totally, im just not reallylooking forward to it that much.

If I had to guess, I'd say you'll be getting about half the performance you would with 2D gaming. Well its sort of a lie. Yes they get the same fps as in 2D but if you were going to be honest its really half that since everything is rendered twice. You will perceive the lag earlier than you would in 2DI'm sure they were playing Left 4 Dead on Medium or something. They should have mentioned it in the article, but they didn't. Or, maybe it wasn't hit that hard since it's a Source game.
What amazed me most about this stuff is developers didn't have to develop the games for this. I was expecting having to wait a couple years for anything that would work with it. Looking through Nvidia's list, they have a pretty good selection of supported titles.

Is there any site you can information regarding the performance hit?
I've tried to google it, but no luck

It does cut the performance in half, or more.
Seems like I won't be getting this untill GT300 is released.
Meh, I'd have to try them or get ALOT of good reviews on it from people and places I trust. Hell of a price for a performance hit.MadCat46He heh, great we will be able to play old games with old graphics thanks to the terrible performance... not new games... i knew there was a catch
