I need a 120 mhz monitor. And acording to nVidias homepage only 3 monitors support HDMI 1.4 3D vision. The rest of 120 mhz is "only" BlueRay 3d ready.. What does HDMI 1.4 mean? Do I need it?

HDMI 1.4 is the new standard, its the version number.

You need 120Hz not mhz  nothing else will work.

I believe 1.4 is what supports 3D.

I thought that you could use 3DVision through any of the outputs.. Also, contrary to popular belief, 100Hz is the real minimum requirement for using 3DVision...

No. You need 120Hz to get 24fps per eye. If not the screen will flicker.

60+60=120. two eyes you know..

It seems like HDMI 1.4 is needed to get 1080p @ 24 fps. And 1.3 only supports 720p. But i don´t know cause all the technical details is written in a engineering language.

3DVision games will work fine with 100Hz displays.. 720p 100Hz 3DVision projector...

zvegasz

Why?

The PS3 hardware specs say it has HDMI 1.3, and its marketed as a 3D console...so 1.3 can do 3D.

I don't follow... Isn't the frame rate split in two? So if you're getting 60fps per eye, you'd be getting 60 fps?

That's why I specified games. I would rather have a 1080p 3D HDTV for Bluray, and use 3x 720p 3D projectors at 100Hz for gaming.. 100Hz requires less GPU power, as does 720p resolution...

the newst version of 1.3 can do it. 1.4 adds ethernet through HDMI and 2k-4k resolution support (previously only DVi could do 2k)

As I understand it 120Hz @ 1080p gives 24 fpsX2. If 60Hz you get 12 fpsX2.

Then why do you need a 120Hz monitor? This is confusing as sh!t.. Im going to mail nVidia.

Yeah, but I think you're getting movies confused with games. Movies are capped at 24fps, games can go as high as your rig can handle.
