nvidia 8800gt or ati radeon 2400 hd pro COD 4

i have a 20" wide screen monitor and try'd playing call of duty 4 with 1680x1050 and it lags not alot but its noticable so ive put it down to a lower resolution. would a 8800gt be better than the ati 2400 i currently have or i was thinking of upgrading too a 2600 pro would that fix the problem. my specs are

Q6600

3gb ram

ATI RADEON 2400 HD PRO

320gb HDD

20" benq widescreen

windows vista home premium

you should try the hd 2600 XT. Go for the XT NOT the pro.

Or you can wait 2 weeks for ATi's 4 series. Should be way better then the 8800GT for roughly the same price. Or so I heard.

the 2400 isn't even in the same leage as the 8800gt you will easily max out cod4 with a 8800gt and it will never drop below 60fps

what he said, BTW why were u even considering putting the two in a comparison, i'll give you some leway though because i think you dont actually know how old the 2400 is, you should be comparing like the 3870 and the 8800gt

8800 gt for sure. ok best buy has it on sale right now for 149$ i promise i just bought one today. pny 8800 gt 512 gddr3. itr is in the sunday newspaper.

My friend, the 8800 GT will knock the daylights out of an ATI 2400.

No comparison between the two cards performance-wise.

I also reccomend the 8800 GT or the ATI 2600. Without question :D

Idk but a quality 500 watt psu is enough for any single card system.

I also have ATI RADEON 2400 HD PRO, but im not sure if my pc be able to run 8800gt. My PC is

AMD Athlon 64X2 dual core processor 5600+ 2.9ghz

i not sure but ithink the watt is 400 or something, the computer is a dell inspiron 531s.

can someone check out whether it can run 8800GT
