NVIDIA and their AMD equivalents

So right now it looks as if-

7850 = 660ti

7950= 670

7970= 680

7990= 690

(these are all rough estimates) Anyways, if these aren't too far off, why would you not go with AMD cards? I'm an NVIDIA user myself, but when I upgrade I might be considering a 7850 or 7950. Why pay for NVIDIA cards when their equivalents offer the same performance for nearly half the price?

7850 = slower than GTX 660

7870 = halfway between 660 and 660 Ti

7950 = halfway between 660 Ti and 670

7970 = between 670 and 680

7970 ghz edition = roughly equal to GTX 680.  Depends on the game.

yeah it is...the 7000 series are superior to kepler in almost every way.  The only real advantage nvidia has is connections with game companies which gives them better performance out of the gate in some games, but lag behind once AMD releases optimized drivers which is usually done in less than a month.  Also the 7970 ghz >>> 680, 7950 ghz ~= to 670

AMD is better cuz that's what i have. I think I'm going to get Nvidia next im cuz of physx and then nvidia is better.

Nvidia is known to rip people off so its not really suprising.  Best option is to wait for end of 2013 when northern islands and true kepler successor is released.  Titan just turned out to be a flop!!

680 costs $500, the AMD equivalent is the 7970 which is superior and costs on average $400 (bought mine for $340)

The 670 costs $350, the AMD equivalent is the 7950 and it costs $300

The 660ti costs $300, well for this card there is no AMD equivalent, The 7950 is superior yet costs the same and the 7870 is inferior but costs $50 less

The 660 costs $220, about the same as the 7870XT which is superior as well

all that matters is the current price not what the price was at release when manufacturing was getting poor yield plus a new architecture plus a lack of competition from nvidia.
