Hi,

I purchased the above graphics card 4 months ago and have been experiencing BSOD. I think it is due to my power supply, which is only 400w.

I was also looking to upgrade my MOBO and chip (both 3 years old) but was advised by a few shops that I should just sell my graphics card and get a whole new rig.

I'm sceptical as I think some of my components are still good (like the GC) and think doing it yourself is usually cheapaer and better.

If anyone can advise what they think I should get?

One the suggestions was this:

http://www.yoyotech.co.uk/pc_system.php?pCid=6&pcSysId=82&osCsid=9fdbf9fbbdd41f816d30e0604d646d57

My spec is:

Chip: AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-K8NF-9 (REV.1)

Supports Dual Channel DDR400 memory architectureIntegrated Serial-ATA interface with RAID 0,1 function

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512

DVD: Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-110D

POWER: ATX-400 (400w)

230GB Hard Drive

2.0 GB of RAM

Cheers all,

T.

it's obvious that the problem you are facing is a hardware issue. If you suspect that it is of the power supply, you should monitor the VGA if it is running normally untill you play a game and engage all the VGA capabilities to chech if BSOD comes out at that time. If not, probably you have an incompatibility between the hardware you use: VGA, motherboard, CPU , etc...

connect 2 ur motherboard and see if your screen shows it means its ur power supply I think you should get at least a 500w.
BSOD can also be a driver thing if u post the error i can tell you the problem
