Nvidia gtx 560m question...pls help

How does the 1gb and 3gb versions of the gtx 560m compare. A friend tells me I was a fool to spend the extra money on the 3gb 560m version of the asus g74. He claims that no games today use more than 1gb of video memory. Is this true.

some games on max may need up to 1.5 or so, like modded GTA 4 or BF3, but 3gb is more like people with triple monitor desktops

The 560m doesnt have enough power to use 3GB, kinda wasted your money.

if its only a few more dollars, then why not have it? can never have enough RAM, especially in a laptop where u can change ur video card in a great hurry.....
