As a 200 series user I will not benefit from this update so I'll stick to the beta 260.63 that I have at the moment, its like they haven't bothered enhancing any performance for 200 series gpu's.. =(

I installed the new drivers and gained 329 points in 3dmark Vantage. That's a nice boost for free :)

It's impressive to me that you gained 200 points with the new drivers, considering that you're using a GTX 200 series card. I didn't know the new drivers would give non-Fermi cards such a boost! Nice!

How did everyone install the drivers? By using the new, custom install, then clean install without manually deleting the old drivers, etc.?

I just used the normal install. The one that offers to keep my control panel settings and doesn't delete anything.

You're making me more excited to get another GTX 480 although I wouldn't need it.

But isn't it recommended by nearly everyone that a clean install should be done?

It's not recommended by me :). Not anymore that is. Let the installer do the work for you.

Thanks for the heads up. Downloading, installed, and SLI_Update_v6 also installed. As for the discussion of clean install versus upgrade. I haven't had any issues with Nvidia drivers upgrading, the only time I've actually been forced to do a clean install because the drivers wouldn't update properly was back when I had an ATI HD 5970.

Im still running the 186 drivers and im sticking with them, no need for me to upgrade, especially since the newer drivers dont seem to like fallout 3 (not new vegas)

The new drivers have a brand new installation program, if you choose custom you have the option of wiping old driver files before installing new ones, its all automatic and requires a couple of restarts.
