Ok, so I got error messages when I tried to play this demo and my driver had to restart. Is this demo ONLY for Direct X 11 supported cards? (I have a GTX260)

The Hawks demo is probably coded for DX9, DX10 and DX11 which is why you could run it.

If you're talking about the Endless City Demo, yes.. DX11 cards only.

Is there any possible way to support tesselation/dx11 on a gtx 260, im sure there can be some sort of software update, just with reduced performance right?

I don't think the GTX 200 series has the hardware to do it. Even if it did, Nvidia has no incentive to enable/emulate it on those cards. They want to sell GTX 400/500 cards.

the GTX 260 doesnt have a tessellation chip, it may be possible to do tessellation on it, but it wont be hardware accelerated or directx11 type, and it would probably only run with a couple FPS if that.

Thanks for the info, Ill upgrade when dx11 games are common, there isn't even a big performance difference between my 260 and a 460, so no point upgrading yet :)
