I just installed Oblivion & Shivering Isle from Direct 2 Drive and as soon as I launch oblivion I get the little back window I get with most games then it crashes.  I've never played oblivion before but I do have morrowind.

These are my specs:

XP Home Ed.

Service Pack 3

DirectX:   4.09.00.0904 (DirectX 9.0c)

 Intel Pentium 4, 2800 MHz

512 MB RAM

Video Adapter: Interl(R) 82865G Graphics Controller (96 MB)

3D Accelerator: Intel Extreme Graphics 2

This could be your problem right here.  The game might not support this graphic chipset.

How do I fix that issue? I know nothing about video cards & 3D acc.  What is the latest card you suggest for my system and to play oblivion?

Thanks for the help,

Richard

Open up your computer and check if you have a AGP slot, looks like this

Another pic of it as well, its the brown thing.

If you have the slot then your going to need to buy a graphic card in order to play it. If you don't have it then your out of luck.

I recommed you buy this one. Link

If your feeling cheap than this one works as well. Link
