Can anyone please help me with this! Oblivion goes into slowmo for no reason. I've turned down the settings, upgraded my 8600gt, got the patch, called bethesda to no avail. My comp meets all the recommended requirements, 3.8 dual core amd, 2 gigs of 800 ddr2 ram, the v-card mentioned, 16 speed dvd, my sound is on board. Do I need a sound card? Plays fine and then goes wacko! Can't play for 5 minutes before it acts up. Getting ready to throw it out and call it a loss!!!!

i have less powerfull hardware than you so that's probably not the problem. are you running this on windows vista???
You may also want to make sure at least %15 of your hard drive space is available, run a spyware check, and defrag the hard drive. If that doesn't do the trick then try installing the latest drivers for you sound and video.
Post in the Oblivion forum. There is a bug that causes all the animiations to go slow mo after playing a certain amount of time. Sombody there should have a link for the fix.
Hey thanks for all the responses it was driving me crazy! This game was the main reason I upgraded my comp.I'll try all the suggestions.The guy at bethesda told me it should run too but they still haven't sent the e-mail they said they would. Thanks again. As far as virus's Its almost a brand new build and has avg running on it. I'll run a scan. I'm running winxp pro.
