Theres a problem when you can beat the game at level 2, skip all text with no consquence, pick the worse non combat skills in the game and yet still destroy everything, become the master AT EVERYTHIGN and weak at nothign.. Seriouslly the game sucks in every way shape or form.. Its not even worth exploring most of the time because its a randomized dungeon where the exact same stuff will drop in the first place that it did in the next place.... Oh did I say it was easy? The difficulty scale doesn't do much either, enemies are still dumb, they just take a rediculouslly stupid more amount of hits.. Yeah thats good so I shoudl cheese tactics even more!..

I question peoples intelligence for being able to call this a RPG.. This game is as much a RPG as STALKER, except STALKERs action wasn't HORRIBLE.

I've done everything i could have ever wanted to do with this game. My savegame reads 435 hours. Like someone said, it needs another expansion. But even then....i think i'm just really ready for Elder scrolls V. I'll have to be patient.

I am not trying to defend WoW or anything, but at least it had meaningful rpg elements to the game.. There is none in Oblivion, infact a 8 year old is fully capable of beating the game due to how simplistic it is.

No, oblivion is just a straight up bad game, with virutally no complexity at all.

People also make the mistake (as do the professionals that classify what genre its in) of assuming its an RPG. it isnt! Its a first-person action game with RPG elements. It has more to do with Bioshock, Deus Ex, and System Shock 2 than it does with Neverwinter Nights, Gothic 3, and the other Elder Scrolls games.

I know it diverged from the Morrowind formula, but people just gotta play it as an action game, then what few RPG elements it has seem more enjoyable.

Idunno, its a great game imo if you follow these three steps:
1. Play it as an action game with RPG elements
2. Do sidequests more often then the storyline quest: if you gain three levels before completing the next stage of the storyline (by doing side quests), the gamewill last you into your level 20s which equates to dozens of hours.
3. Get some good mods.
