I was just wondering, how do you think my pc will run oblivion on 1360x768 res with all high graphics (AAX4)?

It should run it pretty smooth, no doubt. A good cpu and an 8600 GT can max it out (tested) so you should be good. as long as you don't go overboard on the graphics mods.
By the way, oblivion is pretty buggy and laggy on the pc, it has horrible coding. It utilizes only one core, and lags a lot in the towns. So yeah, don't blame your rig if you stutter a bit.

odds are yes but ensure multisampling is set to defaults its a bugged option. seriously it was even cutting out and fps dipping on my hd 4850 :P
ya it should be ok, expect some drops in framerate but nothing to major. I get drops to 30 fps on a 4890, but thats when there are tons of npcs on screen.
One last thing, is there any way i can enable it to use all my processor cores? Im sure that would boost my fps greatly :P

There are multi threading tweaks, yes, but nothing will actually make all your cores work at their potential, I'm sure. Look up "oblivion tweak guide"
And stay away from the Better Cities mod. Seriously. That combined with crowded cities, drops my i7/8GB/radeon 5850 overclocked to 15-20 frames. So it'll be unplayable on your system
ya i believe there is a tweak for that. One last thing, is there any way i can enable it to use all my processor cores? Im sure that would boost my fps greatly :P

ya those npcs are hard on the cpu, same issue as the witcher its weird. Enemies are no problem but npcs kill performance.I don't understand how the other cpu cores aren't being used? I have a Q9550 and on my CPU monitor, all 4 cores are used at ~85ish percent when playing Oblivion... If the game isn't using 3 of the 4, then what are they doing? I have no background task running, especially anything that would use 85% of 3 cores on a 3.5GHz Q9550...?
windows will sometimes do that for you, must be windows 7 right?I don't understand how the other cpu cores aren't being used? Dual boot XP and 7 and it is the same on either, with XP using slightly less...
And I don't understand where you are coming from with this? My CPU cores idle at 10% on core 1 and less than 1% on each of the others when nothing is running? Are you telling me that Windows just randomly waste resources when playing a game?
?

how can ur core just idle at 10%? If its at 10% then something must be running in the background causing that ?_?windows will sometimes do that for you, must be windows 7 right?[QUOTE="TerrorRizzing"][QUOTE="Buttons1990"]

windows 7 tries to spread things out, which actually sometimes causes issues in older games. Windows xp might do the same now with up to date patches. Please Log In to post.
