Yo,

I am planing an upgrade and I know that ocing with a cheap mobo is a bad idea. But if I buy a black edition CPU and increase the multi, in what way does this effect the mobo?. Since i am not increasing hyper transport I am not really ocing my mobo just the cpu.

I dunno if I am right, since I am a newb at ocing I really don't know how it works exacly. Any info on how the basics work and would it be save to do that.

Mobo: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/144452

Thx:)

Why don't you get a better motherboard? Or go intel if you want to overclock.

"Cheap Mobos" (as in price) do not make them bad. 100-$150 can still be a great MOBO.

from personally I find most cheap boards to be utter crap that wont allow you to overclock by much I used to have a nvidia 6m board and it died in like 6 hours while I was doing the lost planet benchmark. Then I bought another one for about $80 and it worked very well

The difference between cheap boards and expensive boards is mainly features, and I would hope, QA. I've never been one to buy expensive boards, lower cost ones and even cheap ones generally work fine.
