Thank goodness a sticky is made, and I have to agree with what others said about the build system, actually...
Stats vs No Stats: As much as I love Attributes, I only love them when they are implemented right. Good attribute systems would be that in Fallout, Dungeons&Dragons and the likes, you know where your attributes are for most of the part static. I always thought that having attributes that scaled wildly not only ruined the core strengths of the system, but made it utterly silly. Stats in Diablo 2 felt like they were there for their own sake.
Skill System: While D3's system does not appeal as much to my inner min maxer like D2's Skill System. I personally feel the D3 system allows for more depth and possibly more viable builds. No longer does it seem to be as much about maxing your favorite Skill and its synergies and more about finding a set of 6 skills that work well together and to further customize them with runes.
Respeccing: I feel it is a welcome addition. As much as I miss the sense of permanency the previous system had, I do feel that rerolling your char because of one mistake is a bit unnecessary. I feel that the good outweighs the bad in this regard.
I hear some people whine about being unable to create a gimped char, but guess what you can still do that. Just pick skills and rune combos that synergize poorly and there you go, a garbage character.
