Well my sister ruined my pc to the point of no return, I can't get into what she did, but lets just say it was really bad. I burnt all my mp3s and important stuff to DVDs and CDs as data disks....I restored the entire pc and after I put them back on I noticed the quality was greatly reduced...

....am i going insane or did burning all my music as a data disk and then returning things back to my music folder seriously degrade my quality? If so, good lord I am seriously upset....It's either that or my headphones suddenly started sucking? I've no way to compare as they are all I have right now :[

Yes, burning them and then returning can in some cases damage the quality, it really depends on the quality of the DVD/CD's and the quality of the Burning software.

No, if you burned them as a data disk and put them back there won't be any change in quality. I'm guessing it something else, like a soundcard setting or something like that.

I've never heard of problems of loss of quality if the files were burned onto a data disk. I'm thinking it's a soundcard/driver issue as well.

unless the program you used to burn the disks had a low default quality setting... but i would make sure your bios and soundcard drivers are up to date.
