I don't know if it's Vista or something not working right in my computer but I just GIVE UP! My computer which is currently: 8800GTS 320mb, AMD Dual Core X2 5200+ 2.60Ghz, 600watts, 4gigs of ram.......can't run the Crysis beta on even low settings with smooth playable framerate(it runs it on 10-15 fps)...my computer which last time I checked 'should run World in Conflict easily on high settings' can't even run the game on medium in playable framerate(again it runs it on 10-15 fps). Before, I would as why it's not running it the way it should in other threads and forums, people suggested I get my 400watt psu replaced with a 600watt, so I did that. Then the 'professionals' suggested because vista is such a resource hog, I should add to my 2gigs of ram. I did that. I got absolutely no performance boost at all.

It runs almost all games in an acceptable framerate, just the newer ones it is having trouble with(with the exception of CoD4). I don't know what else to do, where else to go. I mean, I wanted and waiting so long to buy myself a gaming machine, and when I did and read all the specs I thought I had it, I thought that this was it. I thought that now I will never get any slowdowns on games, and I will be able to play the best ones out there. Didn't turn out to be that way. At this point, I think I give up. You win again pc gaming as you have kicked my ass again! Also, if someone asks me if I have updated my drivers one more time, I will open my window and through my computer out. Remember, this is a cry for help.

It's a Beta, which means it's unoptimized. Regardless of your specs, it will run bad. Wait for the demo Friday, that will be very close to the final game.

Resolution is 1440x900. Also, to the other guy. What do you mean by full system reboot? If you mean reformatting, I've only had the computer for a couple of months and rarely use it.

Thats's my exact system! 5200, 8800gts 320mb, and 2gb of ram (you have 4 thou)

My games perform pretty good. I haven't tried WiC or Crysis, but I don't belive it will be that bad. I belive you might have some drivers issue, a bad part, heating problems, or any other different from hardware. At least that's what I want to belive xD!

Lol Vista is fine for me...I have an E6420 @ 2.13ghz, 2 gigs of 667mhz ram, and an 8600GT. I can run run the Crysis demo at like Medium with a few settings on low at like 30-40 FPS. Might be just the Beta. I mean he did say that he can run all other games so I don't see why Vista would be the problem.

Two ideas...

I know that SLI is very iffy on Vista, and even if you're not using SLI, I agree.. try WinXP with SP2.

Secondly, what's the temperature inside the system like during that game? I know with certain graphics card and 3D Engine combinations the GPU runs hotter than usual. For example, I can run Oblivion at it's lowest settings on my All-in-Wonder, it's choppy, but it doesn't die. Warcraft however (not WoW, just Warcraft) will actually shut down my system after 30 minutes or so, and once I finally get it to turn back on a little voice says "CPU temperature too high." Doesn't make sense but that's how it is. Check the temperature..

stop running around the bush and just get a 8800 gtx man, they're even on sale at newegg for 450 bucks, you got a nice pc, what it lacks is a good GPU!!!.

Nonetheless that gts should be giving you a lot more frames, something is wrong with your setup.
