OH YEA! I haven't felt this much joy at a game in a long time (The Hunter)

it took me a LONG time to track down this little jerk, but i finally blew it away. i just wish i knew that the deer disappears after "confirming the kill", i would have screen capped the body instead. oh god, i love it

oh, and if you guys haven't tried this game yet, please do, its easily one of the prettiest games i've ever played. and its FREE (for now)

wow, i just noticed now that it was a headshot that took her down, and from 370 feet away (i knew it was a far shot, but i took it anyway, i didn't want it getting away from me for a third time)

A deer shooting sim? Can I wear hats with furry ear flaps and set up camp fires and drink beer in a plaid shirt?

Hunting is lame.

Reminds me of the bunny killer post from earlier today. Poor furry creatures, always got to worry about some dumb hunter trying to pop a cap in their a$$!

they need to make a hunting game where you have to cook and eat your food in the wilderness and include dangerous wildlife like bears and cougars (so its not just a funny bunny hunt) and you need to manage your characters level of dehydration and hunger as you desperately look for a rescue :Dredbaron3

I'm pretty much agains war, murder, and grand larceny in real life but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy a war novel, a slasher flick, or a game in which I engage in virtual anti-social behaviour. It's a game, not a lifestyle commitment.

i personally frequent the gulf islands off the coast of british columbia where deer are a real problem. There is no natural predator, so they thrive like crazy. If hunting were not allowed, they would overpopulate the island, exhaust their recources, and starve to death. the only alternative would be to allow a few wolves onto the island, but local residents much prefer a controled hunting season.

I don't understand why fishing is deemed totally find but hunting is frowned upon, they are basically the same thing. one simply invloves firearms, which are a far less cruel way to kill an animal then to slowly reel one in to a boat and club it to death while it suffocates at the same time. not to say that i'm against fishing. or hunting. salmon and deer are damn tasty!

The point you make is valid. I just don't like hunting for sport. To balance the natural ecosystem is a necessity rather than a desire. I'm also not some religous nut or anything, i'm just a regular guy who goes to uni, and parties on St Patty's. Jst my opinion which obviously not everyone will agree with

I saw a web where you can pay some money and they will get you remotely in control of a rifle (looked more like an antitank rifle) with camera and aimpoint on it and you can hunt via internet.. don't remeber link... what about that for hunting?

I saw a trailer for this game on G4 On Demand it looks great, I've always wanted to try deer hunting and now I can do it without feeling guilty. :D

Sure it kinda sucks that it's a MMO, but they said more maps and animals and weapons will be updated so that's great, as long as they don't make it p2p.

lol It's the way it's done. With humans being slaughtered the idea is behind survival, the main character is generally trying to be killed by the enemy. This is hunting for sport. So I don't really need to get my priorities right, thanks mucho though

You know to train police now they use virtual ranges with real life situations? why are so many people intent on telling someone the are wrong for what they think? If you think it's ok then cool, do your own thing. I don't have to, it's the amazing thing of living in today's world

The reason why fishing is seen is fine is because fish aren't generally seen as fuzzy or cuddly...nor do they have big, soft brown, doe-y eyes. Fish are generally regarded as being cold, scaley, and slimy...so if you can't cuddle with it, it's okay to kill for sport...apparently.

Depends on the fish. Some of the white fish species I don't much care for. But salmon (all but chum and pink), halibut, swordfish, and tuna are soooooo yummy.
