Ok, I'm about to spend $850 on my new rig. Any last thoughts?

I wanted to stay on a budget of $850. I've gone a bit over and with shipping it's closer to $900. Any last thoughts on this rig before I make the purchase? Are there any cheaper components I can get that won't effect performance to bring my total cost down? Thanks!

Looks pretty good, there is nothing there outstanding to me on the list that should be changed. You'll like the case, it's a great value.

If you're willing to spend a bit more on the video card, this video card is a 4870 that has a really unique cooling technology and comes packed with extra software. You can read more on the cooling technology here. (I know it's a review for the 3870, but it utilizes the same technology) Otherwise nice system. :)

I'd change that Sapphire 4870 for this Asus HD4870, cheaper, non ref cooling and great MIR $219

That is a nice solid rig.

What OS are you planning on running, XP?

I'd save and get Vistax64 and slap 8Ggs of Ram on that board.

I forgot to update that profile. Unfortunately, I sold that rig when I had a good offer for it. I figured I was going to use my laptop for gaming and was going to get a 360, but after about a month without my rig, I started going through withdraw. Now, I'm building another gaming PC. Now, I'm just wondering what games in the future will actually take advantage of having a high end graphics card like the HD4870.

Get 2 x 2GB sticks of RAM and a Corsair PSU and then you are GTG.
