Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe
Awesome game. If they could get the makers of IL-2 to remake this game, it would be sweet. You could fly everything, from the FW-190 to the P-47, and from the Gotha flying wing to the P80 shooting star. The excellent attention to detail and the scaleable realism found in Il-2 would translate very well.
I too would also like to see Tie Fighter remade.
Great Topic Thread! I have been waiting for twelve patient years for an updated Masters of Magic! That just might be my favorite game of all time. It was basically Civilization in a fantasy world where you researched different spells instead of technologies. I believe that it came out before Magic the Gathering card game but it used the same five colors of magic system. The game was great for it's day (1994 or so) but Soooo much more could be done with it with todays technology. The gameplay actually still holds up by today's standards pretty well but the graphics and sound are 1994. I'd be happy if they updated it with CIV IV tech but truthfully I was not that impressed by CIV IV.
I woulddefinitely second the gamer who said X-COM: UFO Defense! I am currently playing UFO: Extraterrestrials which is being billed as the spiritual successor to X-COM: UFO Defense. It's OK (particularly with mods) but the graphics and sound are 1999 at best and the gameplay needs balanceing and work. It's still the best X-COM like game to come out since the original but it leaves me wanting more.
I could probably think of others but those are the main two.

The one that comes to mind for me is Starflight 1 and 2. There's a web site from the original programmers that say they are working on an updated sequel, but I don't think they've done much work on it (since, I believe, they are working regular jobs and doing the new game on the side).AmmonMoleyWait, you're saying that this is being developed by the ORIGINAL developers? Anyway, I'd definitely kill for another Starflight or Star Control. Either one will do, as long as the new title doesn't suck. Other games that I want sequels to: -Rocket Jockey (This has to be the most original game I've ever played. It deserves a modern update, preferably with ragdoll physics and online play.) -Magic Carpet (This game would be simply awesome with online multiplayer. Build your castle, collect mana, kill enemy wizards with powerful spells...don't forget a robust singleplayer mode, though!) -Independence War 2 (I want another space SIMULATION, preferably with a vast universe to explore. Hey, maybe that Starflight/Star Control sequel that I want could have an I-War-style simulation portion, while retaining the adventure elements...) Those are the major ones, anyway.
Carmageddon
Lemmings
Syndicate Wars
Theme Hospital (and don't even mention Hospital Tycoon as I went straight back to TH before even finishing HT)

lemmings is updated and i think its good, but lemmings number is a bit low
personally i would want Crazy Football in these 3D flashy graphics
maybe Moonstone, but its a classic so if they make it worse i would like to kill them
MechWarriortheshadowhunter
I agree. Though Chromehounds on the 360 did a great job with Mechs. But a proper MechWarrior sequel would be great.
I heard they made a mess of it so...
A full official remake of Halflife 1.
Same for Quake 2
and Doom 1
:)

Actually the Half-Life 1 remakehas already been happening. Its called Black Mesa Source. A mod team have worked on this with Valve for like 2 years. They are rebuilding Half-Life from the ground up using the Source engine. The game looks awesome!
The games that come to mind quickly when I think 'remake' boil down to King's Quest, Space Quest, Quest for Glory, (Original lot of names, no doubt) Monkey Island, Diablo, and System Shock 2.
Of course, I suppose you could count Deus Ex as a spiritual sequel to SS2. I'd kill to have a next-generation remake of Deus Ex that didn't turn out to be a complete and utter disappointment. (Cough, Invisible War, cough.)
MechWarriortheshadowhunter*smacks self* How could I forget that one? I guess it's because M$ raped the series after they got a stranglehold on the FASA properties. Still, if someone could pry the Battletech rights from their grasp and make a title worthy of being called MechWarrior 5...
[QUOTE="TheLegendKnight"]The last Lemming game I've heard of was Lemmings revolution (or something like that), which is old And I'd like it to be more like Lemmings 2, but with added MP :)lemmings is updated and i think its good, but lemmings number is a bit low

i meant the last month's game http://www.gamespot.com/psp/puzzle/lemmings/index.html
but i didnt know it was only for playstations ( psp, ps2, ps3 )
Some of these aren't that old, but i'd be cool to see sequels to them or redone
Ultima 7 (Ultima 7 part 3?? back on britannia with same characters and npcs and more)
Day Of The Tentacle & Grim Fandango
Jagged Alliance (there was a halfass attempt at a remake but it fizzled out)
Super Spike V-ball (outlaw volleyball came close to it but not quite)
these Bullfrog classics - Theme Hospital, Syndicate, Magic Carpet...and maybe Populous
Final Fantasy 4 & Final Fantasy 8
Privateer (or a Freelancer sequel)
Simfarm
Dune 2
Zanzarah

They also made a Lemmings game a few years ago to psp, but I'm talking about a Lemmings game for a real computer, and not just a simple remake (where only graphics was changed), but with added gameplay featuresPlease Log In to post.
