To you maybe, but you obviously never played/liked Jedi Knight

Watch some of the latest gameplay footage and tell me it's not mediocre.(Cell Factor doesn't have Euphoria and other BS and gameplay wise it's way better, but it doesn't have a story like FU)
P.S I own and played almost every game made by LA. (I own all of the games that are after 94 and a few that are older)
Nope, all of us and our "rampant pirate" ways have made Lucasarts think twice about putting out their games on PC. Even those of us who buy their games legitimately (I myself own eight Star Wars games, KotOR twice over) are considered pirates because "all PC gamers are pirates."foxhound_fox
Actually the reason given by Lucas was that too many PC users would have to tone down the graphics enough that it would be not the same game as they intended. So it wasn't pirating, but apparently our crappy systems as a whole. Both reasons suck in my opinion.
[QUOTE="RK-Mara"]So far I'm not too impressed with Force Unleashed. Pretty much all we've seen so far is talk about the fantastic physics engine.artur79
Yeah, but look at what physics did for HL2.... It sure as hell wasn't the story that made it great.
Physics were much newer back then, and the level of quality of HL2's physics were far beyond anything previously seen in any game before.

Yes, we're used to having great physics in games these days. Does that make games that rely heavily on that aspect of gameplay less fun today than let's say.. two years ago? My answer is "no". Physics are more fun today than in 2004, because they're more advanced. At least to me.
The game looks great in those vids imo. I can't prove this (of course), but I'm pretty sure that if this game was a PC exclusive, you wouldn't hear all the "It looks like crap anyway"-remarks on PC-forums.

But they're not new. The novelty of such impressive physics were the biggest part of what made them such a big factor in HL2. We'd never seen anything quite so close to real-life physics before. While that doesn't make physics any less fun today, novelty can create amazement. Having fun while being amazed is much more than just having fun. Furthermore, while we've arguably seen physics beyond HL2's today, it hasn't been nearly the jump that HL2 was over everything else.

Probably not as much, but I think there would still be a good share of nay-sayers (like me). If you ask me, the game really does look utterly unremarkable, the combat doesn't look even half as fun as JK2's, and the over-the-top way they depict the force powers looks ridiculous. I have no faith this game will be more than what I would consider "meh" quality.
Sure, I was amazed by HL2's physics back in the day, but Crysis, for example, amazed me just as much in the technical department. There's nothing new in that game, but it's done really, really well. Both when it comes to gfx and the interaction with the world. Sometimes evolution can be as impressive as a revolution. Imo, of course. I understand that we are discussing a subjective thing here and I get your argument.
And it's really not fair to compare this game to one of the best Star Wars games in existence. Hell, most games out there suck compared to JK2. The relative suckiness of this title compared to one of the finest games ever made does not make it absolutely suck though. I hope I make some sence with my last sentence, lol.
Anyway, I think the game looks like a lot of fun. I can whoop Wookie-ass on Kashyyk. That's all that matters to me.

Makes sense doesn't it? Especially since the game is coming out to just about every single other system, like ps2, xbox, and freaking ngage. And they were talking about how they were working really hard to bring the same experience to the ps2 versions even though it won't look the same as on the ps3 and 360!The game itself doesn't look like anything special to me until I factor in the Wiimote. Motion sensor lightsabering seems pretty awesome to me.
On the PS3 and 360 it seems like a fairly simple and repetitive game, and I imagine the same would be true on the PC. It looks cool - but so does Assassin's Creed.
