I am very dissapointed with Kaspersky and their new anti-virus software. Not long ago like a month ago when my "Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0" expired, I recently bought the new "Kaspersky Internet Security 2009" right on the spot. After installing and getting the hang of it I realize that this new version of Kaspersky really made me mad! I mean I've been a kaspersky user since 6.0 to 7.0 and now this new 2009 is way different.
Believe it or not, It really messes up your system resources and basically kind of makes your computer slow even though I have a mid-end computer on my Gamespot's Signature. Kaspersky made it more of a hastle of having reports, detected, scans, and updates on your events. It even detects some of my programs are viruses and malware but they're not.
Kaspers used to be a simple and straightforward program and displays your scans of logs once it's done scanning, but now the new 2009 keeps it when you installed 2009 for the first time to until it expires, what the hell?
Idk what to do know, I'm so frustrated with Kaspersky. I want my money back, is there any way how I can get a refund?

If I do get a refund, I might wanna get NOD 32 because I heard it's really good too, what do u guys think?

The only downside to NOD32 is that you have to edit the preferences to give it the most in depth protection....that said, its the best virus solution I've ever used.

Most antivirus software blows, that's pretty much all there is to it. It practically qualifies as a virus itself, with the slowing down of your computer and the constant downloading of "essential" updates without notification. Everyone I know uses antivirus software, and so far, none of them have ever detected and removed a real virus. It's painful when people say their computer sucks because it's so slow, because it's almost never that their hardware is to blame. In general, its that they are running something like Norton AntiVirus, and that they have never reformatted their computer.

I personally have never used antivirus software, and never once gotten a virus. The only defence software I run is the Windows XP Firewall. I reformat every 6 months, keep free of bloatware, and have a faster computer because of it.

My suggestion: You are 1000 times better at defending your computer than any antivirus software out there. BUT, if you do want antivirus software, I would reccomend NOD 32. From what I've heard, it is relativly good at not slowing down your computer, and has decent reviews as well.

The best all around game box antivirus I've found is AntiVir Personal. Very small resource footprint. My tests have shown that it has no real world effect on frames per second in any game. It has a great track record on the minimal side of false positives. For a games only box I cant recommend it enough. If your system is yourgeneral use or primary every day computer than you may want something with extras. But as a tiny bread and butter only antivirus for a performance based games box then its great. It's also free.
