OMG...I just did it!

I just purchased my first STEAM game and DLing it right now...L4D..:) Its my favorite game for 360 and thought I couldnt go wrong trying it out 1st. 20$ not too bad for it I guess...I really hope it works out..

Got it for pc later and i couldnt stop talking to them in the locker rooms before and after baseball telling how much better it is. Be aware, game is fairly old. Not as many people playing it, although finding a match should be easy. Alot of rage- inforcers will be playing and might yell alot lol. Get the 2nd one if you can, good addition.

I remember when L4D demo came out we played it hours a day..more hours then most people put in the full game. We love it...Im not crazy about the 2nd one though. Valve games are greatly optimized with the Source engine. Looks good without the performance drop. You should check out Alien Swarm on Steam. Its a ton of fun when you got others to play with. Did I mention its free? :D

I recommend The Orange Box and Crysis Maximum Edition for your next purchases. Next month Shogun 2: Total War, Homefront, and Crysis 2 are comming out. Shogun 2 is gonna be a beastly game. Who doesn't wanna be a Japanese warlord commanding up to 56,000 troops at once? Not to mention its gonna be a visual beast. Homefront is a game most people might skip until it goes on sale but its a day 1 buy for me. Crysis 2 beta is a blast so far. Easily a 9,0 game unless 8.5-Spot thinks otherwise :P

did you get L4D or L4D2? because all the maps from the first game are coming free to the second game in the next few months

Just went through one level..turned up some settings and it played just fine..crazy..never thought I would be playing L4D on my PC..

Thats the beauty of Valve games. You got that computer off Newegg with the Radeon HD 5450 right? Not a powerful card yet still great for Valve games. You should get The Orange Box next. Team Fortress 2 is a TON of fun on PC.

I always though the "Republic of Gamers" bit was kind of silly on the part of Asus, but being the owner of an Asus G52 laptop (or well a wrecked one I killed accidentally), it was a pretty awesomemachine. Arguably they are the best performance laptop brand (and one of the only real makers out there). I always hated the "Republic of Gamers" insignia and lettering on the top of my G52, as well as the very audacious styling of it too lol. T'was an awesome computer though.

tip: If you want to save money then check the steam store each weekend for a new deal, oh, and there are major sales on the summer and at the end of the year.

One more thing, remember that steam wont ask you for your credentials (password/username) under any circumstances.

their customer service is barely ever used.. as for updates.. i get em on time everytime.. i dont see what ur problem is.. perhaops ur behind a proxy or behind a really poorly setup nat system

LOL..Well im not a heavy PCgamer so I should be ok. I am however enjoying L4D..:) AND it does look a little better than the 360 version. Not a graphics fanboy, but it does look better. Going to get a couple old favorites soon...Ghost Recon and Ghost Recon Island Thunder...yea...oldschool..:)
