I enjoy both FPS abd RPGs, but I would like a game that will last longer than crysis, like the Witcher. Or is Crysis so good, even though it is short, still worth getting over the Witcher?

Crysis singleplayer is very short but if you take into account it's multiplayer then Crysis would last you longer.

Myself I don't think Crysis is all that and I certainly don't think it's the best game ever. If it was me i'd go for The Witcher, it really is that good.

How Is crysis single player "very short"? I disagree. Its a solid 7+ hours as long as you dont bunnyhop and run and gun your way through every level non-stop. And 7 hours is average for a FPS. If you want to talk about a "very short single player", mention COD4.

I loved Crysis until the end. It was a beautiful and solid game. Im not usre how they said the game ends in the review. There IS Crysis 2 ;)

Im going to buy the Witcher very soon because Ive heard very good things about it. But yeah Crysis was a good GREAT story and a good time for a FPS game. If you REALLY want long, go for an RPG.

The "average" AAA FPS is around 12 hours according to PCGamer, and I trust them a fair bit (except the Freedom Force review, that was terrible, but I digress). I would go with the Witcher because it is one of the best RPGs released in years, hearkening back to Planescape: Torment days. It will last you quite a long time and RPGs tend to get a lot of additional mod content quickly, while Crysis will get some cool stuff but later simply based on the editor and people learning with it. In my opinion, Crysis looked cool, but didn't offer much new. They are both fun games, but The Witcher is better in my apples to oranges comparison.

crysis is very excellent, but if you really want a long unique experience witcher is great and will give you many more hours of gaming fun.

A bit unfair as they are both different types of games and have different shelf lives as such, but if I hadto choose between the two I would go The Witcher as it does have a little more milage due to its long storyline and sidequests. If you want a blast game that you can burn though, I wouldgo for Crysis.

both crysis and witcher are really good. if there is one fps ypu want to buy this year, it should be crysis and if there is one rpg you should buy this year, it should be witcher. but anyways out of these two, witcher singleplayer will last you much much longer than crysis. but then crysis has multiplayer and lots of cool mods are expected to come out.

The witcher is a very good game. Theres a few major things that keep it from being incredible though. The first one is the damn rail system... Its one of the worst I have ever seen. Your character cant jump, cant swim, cant walk over a 1 foot tall piece of grass.

If the witcher would have been more free roam like Oblivion or Crysis for that matter, it would easily be one of my favorite RPG's of all time... The other thing is the long load times and being fairly unstable. Althoughi just downloaded patch 1.2 though and it has helped me in that department, some people say it made there crashes worst though.

Still though even after those gripes. I still like the Witcher better. Crysis is certainly more polished, but once the Alien part of the game kicked in on crysis I lost interest. The north Korean battles where awesome though.

But in the end there totally two different games. One FPS other RPG.Go with the type of gameplay you like better.
