The UK is very much a mirror image to the US in terms of game sales. Consoles are very prominent on the retail scene.
The problem then, in tracking PC game sales, is two-fold.
1. The retail outlets that DO cater to PC gaming are not counted. Here in the states, for example, Walmart and amazon, the two biggest PC game retailers are not included in most figures.
2. The latest data estimates that 50-70% of PC games are bought digitally now a days, and those digital market places do not release game sales figures.
There's no doubt in my mind that the PC probably did around as good as the PS3 in the UK in terms of FNV sales. I'm going to guess that PC smoked both consoles in continental Europe, probably did very well in Australia, andAsiathough (with the exception of Japan - if it even was released there) :)
Now add ot that the fact the publishers and developers make MORE money per digital sale than per retail sale and in terms of pure profit, I think the Pc can do more than stand on it's own. this makes sense, because if it wasn't so, no one would bother making PC games, but almost anyone who is anyone in the industry does.
