Noctis. It's a free DOS game that allows you to explore an entire galaxy of 70 billion stars and the planets that orbit them. There is no quest to finish or enemies to kill...just things to explore. Everything in the game was procedurally generated before it was released so every player has the same galaxy. The graphics may not be "uber" because it is DOS, but it provides some amazing sights if you put forth the effort to explore. Just read the included manual or you won't understand a thing about it.

For an Oblivion like game Gothic 3 (will take you some time to get used to)
For a GTA like game Just Cause.Â
As above - Vampire: Bloodlines - The Masquerade.
Boiling Point has a huge world but it has mixed reactions (I will play it one day....)

Dunno if this helps, but you don't have to do the main story in Oblivion OR Morrowind.. I had a lot of fun with Morrowind and I didn't get very far into the main quest.
I am thinking about gothic 3. Could I run it on a 7600 GT,2 gb of RAM and Core 2 duo e6300supergamer1289
I honestly wouldn't bother with Gothic 3. The graphics are alright, the combat system is horrible and it's awfully buggy.
Get gothic 2 instead...much better than gothic 3 also morrowind and Stalker SOC,not like oblivion but open ended and lots of fun.

The game is not nearly as buggy as it once was. The patches they have come out with have been great.
Sure the combat isnt the best, but i dont have any issues with bugs or how the game runs anymore at all personally.
They all have main quests. Titan quest is a great game. Stalker if your machine is good enough.
For no main quest and lots of side quests MMO's are your only answer like World of Warcraft.
Sleepyz
Titan Quest is not an open game. It's very linear.
I want a game thats open world. When i mean is like a oblivion or grandtheft auto type of game. I dont want those games though. I want to not have to do the main quest, and just do what I want with side quests and stuff. supergamer1289
Check out Gothic 3 with the latest patch...
or Two Worlds.
or Fallout 3.
All are well done, open games. If people tell you they are too buggy, they haven't played the games with the latest patches and don't know what they are talking about. All of these games I mentioned work perfectly fine...and are really fun, depending upon what you are looking for.
