A friend is buying a new computer but kinda haven't been keeping up with this stuff. What you guys think of the stuff below?

He wants a long lasting computer that will be a good gaming machine for few years but without costing a fortune. All the stuff below is from Newegg.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Processor

EVGA GeForce 9800 GX2 01G-P3-N891-AR Video Card

ASUS P5Q3 DELUXE/WIFI-AP CH1-11 ATX Intel Motherboard

CORSAIR XMS3 DHX 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory

RAIDMAX SMILODON ATX-612WB530P Black Foldout MB Computer Case With Side Panel Window

TIA.

Very good it will last a long time, at least 5-6 years.

There might just be one problem, the ASUS P5Q3 Motherboard is kinda unstable, has some problems, and the wifi on it isn't to great. Better to have a P5Q Deluxe, and Buy a seperate Network Card.

Well, if cost is remotely a concern, then downgrade the motherboard to a ddr2 variant and get 4gb of ram. Also the GX2 is somewhat outdated. Switch it out with a GTX260 or a Radeon 4870 if possible.

GX2 outdated? It's faster than both GTX260 and HD4870...
