Okay, well i was thinking about getting a Mac Book for myself, along with C&C3, STALKER, and maybe Halo 2. My computer right now is starting to lag alot, and it cant hold the graphics anyways.

Cause anyways, i have Diablo 1,2, and 2 expantion, along with Civ 3, and Star Wars: Empire at War, and i was thinking about getting a new PC game anyways. But my craptacular computer here cant hold the graphics of any good/upcomming games.

My question: Does anyone think that a Mac Book is any good, and that i can probly get a bundle of some kind with a graphics card?

Well, I have a Macbook and I love it...........I don't use it for games though. It is AWESOME for productivity software and day to day browsing. When it comes to games though, it is not a good choice. To be honest with you, C&C3 and Stalker needs to be run on a desktop and not a laptop. Laptops (except for a HIGH, HIGH end Alienware) could not even dream of running these correctly.

Yeeah, I'm not sure if the OP knows or not, but I'm almost positive you can't legally put Windows onto a Mac. Which would mean that you couldn't play most games, especially the games you listed. To stay on topic, yes, I think the Macbook pros are great, I'm in the process of maybe buying one now.

ya, you have to emulate it. It's practically useless for playing games.

Basically only buy a mac if you're in the media industry(Music, TV, 2D art etc.) Other than that they're useless.

The new mac book pro has descent graphics and should run most new games. You will have to install XP on it though, If I recall right Boot Camp is a program for dual booting a new Mac with XP. Since the new macs are intel machines this is not a problem and doesn't give you the slow downs of emulation.(it runs windows native)

You could buy a Dell with the same specs for less money and not have to Pay for a copy of Xp and the headach of installing a dual boot system. The software you want is Just not available for OSX.

Thats true, you need a high end laptop to run the games you want to run. I have an Alienware (not a brand new one, it has a 6800 gpu w/256 and 2 gigs of RAM) and though it runs STALKE(on fair settings), I play it on my desktop because its much smoother.

Apparently everyone in this thread should google "Apple Boot Camp." (cmon guys if they made it for apple users it must be ridiculously easy to do).

IMO if youre buying it for games, DONT buy apple. EA and id signed on, but youll be missing out on the majority of games. Also if you dual boot windows, youll probably spend most of your time in windows, so just buy a PC.
