Im going to upgrade my system and i wanted to know what you guys thought my priorities should be. Im thinking cpu or gpu, or maybe even the power source while im at it. what do you think?

3.2 GHz pentium D

geforce 7600 gt

2 gig 533 DDR2 SDRAM

305W power supply

250 gig hd

etc

You will need a better PSU before you do anything. Remember not to just care about watts because that is misleading. Look at the current on the +12 volt rail. That is what is important.

Next I would bump up your GPU. I'd go with either a 7950GT, 1950XTX, or 8800GTS.

Then the CPU. PD are bad, C2D are amazing, x2s are also very good. Upgrade to one of those

Yeah, your PSU is pretty weak. If you upgraded your CPU you should go to a dual core, which might mean a new motherboard. Upgrading to a faster single core just isn't a good idea. You might want to consider doing an overhaul and getting a new motherboard, Core 2 Duo, and new RAM.

1. new PSU (500W min.)

2. new CPU (Dual Core)

3. new GPU (DX10 Card, ATI HD2000 series, or NVIDIA 8800 series)

that should make you last for a while.Â
