I just bought a 9800 gtx for a gaming pc I'm building. Is this a good card? This is my first time building, so any input would be great.

Its a fairly good card but nothing near the 4870. YOu can still max mostly all games on the market to date excluding crysis. You should get crysis on high with a little aa.

I don't mean to be critical but it seems you should ask these questions before you've already bought the card.

Is it a good card? Yes

Could you have got better value for money? Yes, you should have got an ATI 4850 or if you could have stretched to it a 4870.

Well, it is a good card, but I think you should have gotten a 4850 because it's cheaper and a slightly better card, or if you could'of scraped up a little more money a 4870.

I guess the real question is, how much did you pay for it? ATI Radeon HD 4850 is in the same price range most of the time and outpaces it. It's still a good card, but again, price/performance is always an issue on these forums.
