Optimization for a Acer Aspire One D255E Netbook?

Hey all, first time posting on this board. Now before I get into the topic, I know Netbooks are not meant for serious gaming, but I would like to have some option here.

So, today I took advantage of the Counter Strike sale, and bought the anthology. Now, I tried playing 1.6, and I've been getting choppy framerates even on the lowest settings. And when looking around Youtube, I've been looking around for CS on the Acer Aspire One series of Netbooks, and seeing them run it on High Settings without a hitch.

Here are the specs for mine:

Intel Atom 1.66Ghz

1GB DDR3 Ram

Intel GMA 3150 (256mb)

Windows 7 Starter

Now, from what i've noticed, most use a 950 GMA card, and use XP, is that the main cause of it. And if so, is there a way to make Half-Life 1 games run better? Thanks!
