Is the first game still worth a buy with the second coming out?

You should probably get the second game. The first game is okay but not great. I think they cheated a bit with the first game. Its very obviously made for co-op, you can see it in the level design, but they've omitted that feature entirely if only to make the game harder! They're sailing close to the wind releasing a sequel less than a year after its predecessor!

For the price on Steam right now you would be crazy to pass it up if it interests you. Plus you get 10 additional coop maps if you own the original. I think it's a terrific game and well worth the price. It offers a unique third person/tower defense element that I like. Plus killing Orc's is just plain fun!

My only issue with the first game was the mouse acceleration. I found the game very fun, but could only play in spurts as I had to play very careful with the extreme sensitivity even with mouse sensitivity all the way down.

It's an excellent small game, and well worth the price. It has replay value if you want to try the nightmare mode, or just approach the maps with different traps and tactics.

For the price it is on Steam atm it is literally a steal. I got a solid 15 hours out of the game and will probably get twice that much with the sequel
