I just saw this video on youtube about this new display technology that apparently has been around for months, but didn't know about until now. Apparently this is supposed to be much better than LCD and Plasma screens in terms of screen quality and manufacturing. I just wonder when it could become mainstream. It also says it requires no backlight whatsoever which means less drain on batteries. Here's the link....

Lots of good new monitors/HDTV tech is coming out soon.

OLED, SED, new Plasma HDTVs, new LCD HDTVs, LED LCD HDTVs.

MONTHS? I've first seen results from OLED's more then 2 years ago. It's not breaking through and generally, LCD's + plasma were pretty bad in those days and OLED seemed to be the most promising thing in those days. But LCD's and plasma screens became better and OLED doesn't seem to be of much of use. Apart from that, it isn't an easy tech. to use in very big screens (just like LCD is, but plasma seemed to have become the solution for this trouble) The only plus there was is that it used a lot less power then most current screens, regardless of what technology was used. It was much lower then CRT, LCD, etc.

Yup there was/is a Russian company that has a really cool keyboard with OLED keys that can contain icons of anything you want. I wonder what happened to them?

I think the greatest problem with OLED is its life-span.

its easier to type something, selct it then press the hyperlink button that looks like a chain at the top of the typing space. copy and paste the url in the top one then press ok and the text you seletct will link to that url.

Except it is going to be freaking expensive.
That is why this new Plasma, LCD and LED LCD HDTVs sound so good, they are much better then their older relative but will be made on these old and defined manufacturing processes, which will equate to lower prices for consumers.

They were talking about how the lifespan was a problem. Well, if people already have OLED stuff like that MP3 player, I guess they solved it.. Either that or that thing will die soon.
