My burnner died.

I currently dont`t own a USB drive.

I`m running Vista 32 and want to clean install Windows 7 64.

Is there a way to do it using some kind of pre-boot command or smth.?(meaning without a DVD or USB drive)

I have an ISO image of it on my disk...

TNX for reply(s)!

You can use a usb stick, but then you said you don't want to. Last resort is a network install, and it isn't easy.

Yep i`m a little short on the media department right now.

I knew it wasn`t going to be easy, but i hoped for some miracle boot command that i could set in some boot or startup folder or something..

like monut c:\Win.iso -run setup.exe /lol

Thing is with a network install, all of the network installs that I have done (I have never set one up personally) but you need to boot from a disc, like one from bootdisk.com So honestly it's not worth it for one install.

I just don't get why the OP doesn't just get a dvd drive, 20 dollars for a new one. DVD drives I've noticed fail a lot. I've had 3/9 of them die in less than 2 years. It's a real pain when they start failing.

Ok,i now bought a 4 gb USB storage, since my burnner will arrive as a gift soon ;)

I`ve set the first boot priority to USB-hdd

My biggest problem right now is that I cant make the usb bootable with bootsect.exe, as I am running Vista 32 (but want to install win7 64).

Just google "installing windows 7 without dvd"

It works, ive got win 7 64bit installed as well as vista 32bit ultimate on my laptop.

I think it works like this:

1. Setup partition or use another hdd.

2. Format as NTFS

3. Download daemon tools or powerISO

4. Copy contents of ISO file to the hdd space.

5. Change BIOS to boot from 2nd hdd.

6. Install windows 7

Something like that, but ask google, ittl give u an answer like it did 4 me.

I didnt have any DVD's to burn the ISO on and the USB was drying (i accidently put it in the wash)
