Would there be a great advantage to having your OS on a separate HD??? Would it make it faster or slower? How many HD should a good system have?

One drives grabs the data off the game while the other runs the os iy offloads the the workoad and speeds up loading times in games.

I currently have a cavier 750.

What size drive would be good for the os? I have a deal on a barracuda 250gb right now. Would that be big enough. I realize it will for windows, but is there any other advantage. Can a drive be too small for just an os?

operating systems really don't use alot of space even a 50gb would be plenty big If you did just operating systems.

Of course by default it automatically saves photo, videos and music in your documents which is on OS drive so I'd go with like a 200GB if you have alot of movies, videos, photos, and music, If not go smaller

Well I do save ALOT of media. But I have a terabyte of storage in powerbooks. So I offload my documents folder every month and double back up to be extra safe (and portable).

So a 250 would be plenty. Right?

I also wondered about the ability to use the caviar and a baracuda together, they run at different speeds, would this present a problem? baracuda is 7200 caviar is 5200, i think, maybe im wrong.

How do you have a 5200 drive? Does that even exist for a desktop?
