Whenver people make an arguement against WoW, they only seem to focus on the raiding aspect, and although the raiding part of it is difficult and time consuming, there are so many other things to do.

The world is beautiful. The art style is great, the landscapes are unique and every area is different. You can explore the entire world just by using your movement keys, which is more than you can say with most MMO's. In other MMO's, the areas are seperated by loading screens that take you across the world in two seconds, not where you actually ride or run there, or even just watch a ride on a wyvern or gryphon.

The tradeskills are deep and take you to many exotic places in the world, and the economy is alive. As a miner, I started out running around the forest and caves mining copper and smelting them into bars, then selling them for a good profit on the auction house. Eventually I was scouring the most remote regions, finding rare ores to sell for a ton of money, and I really got the feeling the economy was alive. I would undercut high prices other people would set on the auction house, and end up with a fat purse of gold. Then I would use that gold to buy the lower priced ores and the higher priced ores, so I could set the current price for that particular ore, and then watch them fly off the auction house, me ending up with an even fatter purse of gold.

The PvP is my favorite part. The battlegrounds are brilliantly designed, with objectives each side must pursue to win the battle. The combat in PvP is always exciting and fun. Fighting other players with sneaky tactics and clever skill usage is a ton of fun. It was fun being ambushed by a rogue simply using a distraction to make me turn the other way, he played with me while I was helpless and couldnt even see him, them decided to attack. Its also fun to have 5 enemies on me at once, and just as I'm about to die, I use my bubble skill (surrounds me in a bubble for a short time that protects me from damage) as they continue to attack while I heal myself, eventually my allies running in and taking them out for me.

Not to mention the steady flow of monthly updates and more expansion packs plan that will ensure there is always something new to do.

If you want to play WoW, but think raiding is the only part and this game will always suck away your life no matter what, consider these options.

I hate to say it, but if your really into PvP, you might be better off playing WAR. Mythic has RvR down pat.

Yeah, maybe, I doubt I could get into the Warhammer world though.

What does RvR stand for anyway?

RvR = Realm vs. Realm.

I completely agree with Johnny on this one. I used to played WoW for the pvp until I discovered WAR, haven't looked back since.

WoW's PvP doesn't do it for me. I'd rather just inspect other players "Oh, you have better gear and retribution spec. You beat me". Pretty much the same thing, except you can't die.

Is Warhammer any different? I wouldnt know, maybe it is, but I doubt it.

I wouldnt be able to get into the warhammer world. With extremely annoying looking orcs and horrible character models and strangely low res graphics...Not to mention the environments which all look extremely boring, none of them bright or at the very least good looking.

I could be wrong. A lot of people like it obviously. But maybe they just like it because its not WoW and its not Age of Bugs.

Another WARvWoW thread, eh?

Well, yes of course raiding is long, but what did you expect? And the length of WoW's raids are short compared to CoH/V (City of Heroes/Villains) "Task Forces", which can take half a day (if you're in a bad group).

WoW is better at PvE whereas WAR is better at PvP.

Here's a demonstration. WAR RvR's can be huge when clans bands together against another alliance; So huge in fact, you will lag.

I agree. WoW obviously has a lot more going for it than Raiding and people don't usually focus on a lot of its subtle yet great aspects.

Thats cool...But it will probably be easier for me to go back to WoW than play Warhammer, though Warhammer looks good. I'm happy with the WoW PvP and all though.

Hmm...I'm getting Fable 2 in October, and then Wrath of the Lich King comes out about a month after, so I could either buy Wrath of the Lich King and go back to WoW or buy Warhammer Online at that time.
