Hi guys,

I have 4GB (4X1GB) of Crucial Ballistix Tracers with the black heatspreaders & LED's however this ran quite hot even at default BIOS settings, I then configured the BIOS with what my RAM is suppose to run at 800MHz 4-4-4-12 with 1.8V however this RAM is capable of doing 2.2V my RAM are at this settings however my voltage is set to 2.2V now since I got a OC on my CPU however when I touch the RAM you can literally burn your finger within seconds.

Im just worried abit however do you think its just the heatspreaders that are this hot or do you think the actually RAM is?

Badly, Crucial heatspreads are kinda bad. If you have aclose look to the rams, you might see that the rams arent even touching the heatspreader so you should re-place it correctly.
1 more thing, its NOT adviseable to run your rams over 2.0v if theres not fan blowing air on them. So do something and cool your rams before they fired up.

Yer I do clean my case & my case gets plenty of airflow & yer I know 1.8V is the default DDR2 voltage however higher quality DDR2 allow you to run 2.2V thats why you get lifetime warrantys. However I feel like the Ballistix Tracers just run hot no matter if at defualt settings or not & withing hours become extremely hot to touch but still operate fine however I dont like it stay away from the Traccers & just buy normal Ballistix.

Leds at tracer have their heat as well but it shouldnt affect the ram. However, as i mentioned, try to get adirect air flow towards your sticks and you shuold be fine then
