Not sure if youve seen my posts but im planning on building a new rig, But i was just wondering How high could i possibly over clock my Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 @ 2.66GHz? I know this isnt the best processor ever but i think it can be overclocked rather well, But like always, im coming to you guys for the answer:D If its possible to OC this to about 3.0 GHz or higher(while still stable) i can pretty much subtract 1k from the price of my rig(i think) So any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks:D

The Dell has a thermo-electric cooling system. Its the H2C system, you can check out the specs at Dell.com. I only keep it at 3.6GHz to run benchmarks. It stays at 3.2GHz the rest of the time. The quads run steamy, but the Dell 710 case has good airflow.

Thermo-electric cooling and you only run it at 3.2GHz most of the time? What are you saving it for. On that cooling system, I say at least 3.4GHz.

What's the point of running at 3.6GHz if I am running at 3.2GHz at over 100fps at all my favorite games? (except MS Flight Simulator X, but that's another story). I'm not going to push my CPU to browse the web and read email. Its pointless.
