Hey guys: I got an 8500gt 512 mb 500mhz and i was thinking of overclocking it.
I just wanted to know if overclocking it(at safe levels)will really help boost any performance(noticeable performance) or is it of no use.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

PS No,i can't upgrade to any other graphicscard now.
PPS If it is of any use, should Rivatuner 2 do the trick?

I wouldn't really expect to see much a difference in gaming for 8500gt overclocking. You may be able to squeeze a couple a frames, but I doubt you would really see it.

Go ahead and OC it, then see for your self if theres any performance difference. You didn't even state the games you are playing nor the resolution you playing at.

RivaTuner will work fine.

I sugest, that you should try with new nibitor. Save bios from your graphic card with GPU-z, and then edit with nibitor, after that download nv flash and reflesh video card bios. Before all of that, you should use coolbits to dedect max. clock of memory and GPU.

You are kiddin right ? I bet its his first time trying to OC something so he shouldnt get involoved with BIOS and re-flashing and its all risk.

Just use Rivatuner and you will do great.

Use RivaTuner and you can get much more then stock performance ... I got about 45% increase in games ... and overclock was the same, 45% :) But I placed Zalmans VF900 cooler on it...

If your card has no active cooler on it, get it ;)
