overclocking a Processor

Just for starters i am kinda new to this overclocking buisness

the only thing i've ever overclocked was my graphics card, just recently and i got all that done, and its good and running fine but then i heard that it is possible to overclock your processor. I was curious if anyone new enough about overclocking proccessors to tell me if its possible to over clock mine thanx

i do not know what brand or anything my mother board is, how do i find that out ??

any help would be GREAT!!!!!

just been googling a bit and you may be out of look since its a dell system they might have locked every thing down, Id still check out the above link if your interested in overclocking in the future
