overclocking a Q6600 with zalman fan

hey guys i got a quick question about the Q6600 CPU

i will be ordering one within the next couple of days and iw as wondering how much can i OC it at a safe speed with a zalman 9500 CPU fan with heatsink? over 3.0GHz?

i will be OCing and i was just wondering what i could expect to OC it to with that zalman fan

You would be safely be able to get to 3.2Ghz i think!

It really depends on your mobo/memory but you should be able to hit 3.0 easy, and probaly 3.2-3.5 depending on overall quality of your other parts.

well ill be getting an asus p5e mobo with 2gb of crucial ballistix tracer 1066MHz RAM and an 8800GT SSC from EVGA. i think those parts will allow me to OC well right?

yes, that is a good mobo but I would get a MSI P35 mobo if I were you(is better overclocker)

too late lol just ordered plus MSI has bad customer service so i hear and i trust asus cuz they make VERY stable boards

well, yeah, except their X38 boards, which suck in terms of stability.
