Hi guys. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to overclocking but I think I managed to get my CPU running at 4.0Ghz stable. I've ran IntelBurn stress test a few times and seems stable so far. Does this look okay or do I need to change anything? Oh I forgot to add at idle temps are at 37 degrees and at full load temps are at 57 degrees. I'm using a Cooler Master Hyper 212+ in a NZXT Lexa S case with push/pull config.

Thank you. First time overclocking so I guess it went well for me, lol. If there's anything I can change please let me know. Still reading up on overclocking.

57 degrees load is kinda high. I have the same overclock as you and my max temp is 50c with a H60 push/pull

I was looking at that H60 cooler back when I made my PC but I couldn't afford it so just went with the most affordable one at the time. Will the H60 help bring down the temps to your kind of temperatures? What would you say is a safe max temp for the AMD X4 955??

If I'm not mistaken, as long as it doesn't go over 61°C (or 62) it should be ok though.

Edit: Awww you beat me to it D:

You got lucky with that 955, mine won't go higher than 3.6 on the multiplier with 1.4v.

I have a 212+ with one fan and the same voltage as you but my max temp is 45 degrees. Do you live somewhere very hot?

If I OC my CPU to 4ghz, the temp goes to 55 whilst idle...I think I need some sort of cooling rather than the stock fans n stuff haha

My 940 doesn't go past 3.5 unless I punch up the voltage from 1.4 to 1.45. Sometimes you just need to crank on the voltage a bit more to get a higher OC.

Lol I got lucky with the CPU? Haha. Yay me. Nah I live in England and it's pretty cold here most of the time. Never gets too hot unless we're having a heatwave during the summer.

I got the C3 955 at 3.7GHz, I sometimes think about bumping up to 4GHz but then I may have issues with overheating

I'm in UK too, I was just interested since we have the same cpu, same voltage, same cooler but yours runs 10 degrees hotter than mine. Maybe my case makes a big difference.

That's quite easy. Getting a 965 BE to 4.0ghz is another tale.

AMD constantly changes their process, so later CPUs will always OC more than earlier ones.

What case have you got? I might change my case later but I bought the NZXT Lexa S because it looks so cool.

I forgot to add that I was using the thermal paste that came with the Cooler Master Hyper 212+. Maybe I should have used an after market thermal paste??

I'm using an antec 900 which has pretty good cooling. Also I used IC Diamond thermal paste (i think that's what it was called) since my friend won some on overclockers.
