Hey guys! So, I want to SAFELY overclock my GPU or CPU without any risk. I got: Gt210 1GB DDR3 2GB RAM Intel Dual Core @2.6GHz To play games LIKE Battlefield 3 (It's playable on the lowest set up but there are still some lags), should I upgrade my CPU, my GPU or Both? How can I do it without having the risk of overheating or something ? Because the GPU is freshly bought and I dont want to destroy it. Please answer only IF YOU KNOW how to do it, I dont want to try your theories.

CPU overclocking is made in the bios while the GPU overclock is made with software. You won't gain much of it anyway since you got a pretty bad gaming gpu and and old dual core.

Sorry to say this, but your gpu is not a gaming card and even with massive overclocking wont be able to run BF3 well enough to play. The GT210 only has 16 Cuda cores, you need a gpu with a minimum of 112 cuda cores to be able to run this game on low settings at a stable framerate. Also that cpu would hold you back on 64mp servers and that 2gb of memory will also cause you grief at times. Cheapest upgrade option for you would be to get an AMD 6670 and you would be able to play the game on low and medium settings. While its best just to get a whole new system.

how much did you pay for the gt210? because if you paid more than £25 you need to take it back and get a refund if the seller claimed it would play games, esp bf3.

I reeeaaally don't think overclocking those parts is worth it... It's old enough.

I paid 30 Euros, had no money for a better stuff. I dont even live in that country no more so I could go back to the store. So, I have no money for upgrading, is there anything else I can do? Upgrading is the only thing I can do?

well, atleast you didnt actually get ripped off, and you can probably recover atleast 70% of your outlay by selling it on ebay. if your going to spend £30 on a graphics card, get something old and used that used to be good. like maybe you can get a used gtx260 for around that amuont.

I blame the GPU companies for rebadging so much. A GT210 is a rebadged 9400GT which is a rebadged 8500GT. So basically it was low end 6 years ago.

Not going to help, Your gpu is at least 10x slower then what you need to play BF3 at playable performance. GT210 has a whole 16 shader processors , also only being able to do about 67 GFLOPS of performance while a 7800GTX from 2005 could do 200 GFLOPS. While a Geforce 8800GT can do over 500 GFLOPs

Afraid not, gamebooster adjusts the cpu and memory priority to the game also. When you do decide to upgrade make sure you look that the 2nd number in the series like 8800 or 560 etc the 2nd number is what gives you an idea how fast the gpu is the series lineup. Usually 6, 7 8 or 9 are what you need to game.

lol what a fail card. Nvidia has rebranded so many cards including mine. A lot of people seem to fall for these garbo cards thinking they can play games.
