I have been thinking about upgrading my current P4 D 3 Ghz to an E5200. I am hoping that it would make at least some of a difference, ingame and while using other applications. I am really on the edge about this, given just how cheap the E5200 is, it is very tempting to just go out and buy one. Do you guys think it is worth the upgrade?

It is a good upgrade but just make sure your motherboard support 45nm processors.

Well, this is my current mobo. As far as I can tell, it does support 45nm technology, but only via a BIOS update.

I have never updated my BIOS before. A list of the updates is here. Do I have to download all of them, or only the one I need? Is updating the BIOS a simple procedure? Thank you for any assistance in this matter.

A new CPU, if that makes any difference.
