Entirely bull. As much as I want Blu-ray to win, Paramount has an exclusive deal with HD-DVD for an undisclosed amount of time. While I know that Paramount will in the end go for Blu-Ray, it isn't now.SSJBen
According to insiders, Paramount has a clause that allows them to get out of the contract somehow. If true, I wouldn't blame them.
Disney announced at the Consumer Electronics show, 2 days ago, that they will be going exclusive Blu-Ray in March this year. That will be the large nail in HD-DVD's coffin. Personally I like HD-DVD better but... getting harder to keep the faith with news like that.
^^ Disney has been BD exclusive since the start ...BlacKJaCK2290
Better check you story ;) Disney sells in both formats, they have been Neutral since the start...

Look pal, Disney has been with Blu Ray since the beginning, you are getting it confused with Warner Brothers. Unless of course you have some Disney HD DVDs, but I doubt it.
My bad... Disney kept suggesting they would produce in HD format since 2006, even supporting the lastest HD format as of last Sept but appears they will no longer consider that as a possibitity. Either way the end is near for HD. The war will be over with in six months.

When you say "even supporting the latest HD format as of last Sept" do you mean HD DVD or HD in general, because Disney never supported HD DVD.

Just checked that up a little bit and it seems that it is true.
Didn't notice this before, so I would like to point my post as a mistake. Paramount indeed has a clause in their contract that if Warner switch sides, they can drop out of HD-DVD support. When will it happen is something I see as soon.
Considering that Sony just announced a Blu-Ray drive for the PC less than $200, you can expect OEM makers to go even further down in price.
Also, Disney never did supported HD-DVD. You may have it confused in a way that Disney are instead bringing their content to Xbox Live. They have been with Blu-Ray since day one.
[QUOTE="darthisaki"]Well paramount and dreamworks singed an exclusive deal with to release on hd dvd. so until something really bad happens, you aint gonnasee paramount on blu-ray.SSJBen
That "something bad" is already happening as we speak.
Well there is a counter article and I can't find it for the life of me that states that Paramount may not be leaving HD DVD anytime soon. The article was released after the first report that mentioned the clause, but darn it all I can't find it anywhere, it was on Gizmodo but it seems to be missing or I am blind. I would not discount the latter.
But I hope it does happen as I want this war over.
The crappy part is that there isn't enough money in the HD formats to warrant any kind of drastic action. They sell way way way more DVDs so the war could keep going for a while even if HD-DVD is obviously losing.Travis281
Part of the consumers apprehension of adopting a new format has been the fact that there are both Blu Ray and HD DVD, so if HD DVD bows out then that would potentially bring in more consumers. I know a handful of people that are sitting on the fence right now in hopes of a winner.

How about the #1 dvd seller Waner Bros?

Disney and other members of the DVD Forum has approved a 51GB version of the HD DVD disc format.
The reason this even makes news is because of the ongoing format war. As you know, in war, every little change in each camp is interesting because it might indicate a change in stance.
Normally Blu-ray supporters (That are not neutral) do not cast a vote when the DVD Forum approves or suggest new specifications to its HD DVD format. The interesting part is that Disney (a strong Blu-ray supporter) voted for the twin and 51GB triple layer HD DVD discs at a commitee meeting in September.
Many speculates that this change of interest from Disney may indicate that the studio is starting to show feelings for HD DVD. Perhaps, just in case, if Blu-ray doesn't make it to the finish line.
In the end it may be of no importance and it probably isn't but as said in a war you never know.
Lastly, we are currently talking with the DVD Forum to get more details on the new formats so stay tuned for that one.
