I am thinking of getting Flight Simulator X: Gold Edition from Amazon. I know that amazon's products are usually North American but I am an Australian. I was wondering if I get the American version will it work on an Australian PC.

Good choice. Aussies have the full Orbx/FTX treatment for their home turf while us Yanks have only the US Pacific Northwest.
