Hi,

my mother asked me to run a diagnostics on her PC but I am really not sure about these numbers:

picture of numbers showing temps, rpm, voltages

I am wondering if they are alright.

Specs:

Intel e5300 @ 2,60 Ghz

1,5 GB of DDR2 RAM

Crappy onboard GPU

350 no-name PSU

CPU temps look fine but the Hard Drive seems a little hot.

Nothing looks out of order to me. Temps are all fine, and I dont see anything horribly outrageous about the voltages (i am not an expert on that, but they all seem about right for their components- feel free to correct me, experts). Does she think something is wrong or did she just want a check up?

I'd only be concerned if the cpu temp rose above 50 (and stayed there)

i'm not too familiar with intel cpu's but judging by the cpu voltage i would assume the cpu is underclocked by intel's speedstep (power saving feature). if that is really the case i would say the cpu temps seem fairly high at around 40 degrees. i assume your mom's pc usage will not cause the cpu to be heavily stressed for long periods at a time ever, so it should be ok, but, as previously mentioned, the hdd temp is also fairly high.. it's all within specifications so no real need for concern but i would personally try to see if i could improve the airflow a little to give a higher safety margin (by cleaning the case of possible dust, better wire management, maybe even upgrading case fan, etc).

Wow, that was quite fast.

Indeed, the wiring seems to be nonsensical.

I'll try cleaning the case, but I really don't expect anything to change.

Thank you all. :D Now I can finally rest in peace.

She saw that VCORE = FAIL value in BIOS PC health menu. The BIOS itself shows that CPU clock is only 300Mhz. I am a little concerned about it myself cause I've never seen something like that. Everything else seems to be OK, PC boots up and function as usual. I've googled for solution but there are no reasonable answers for that.

I think it's because of the old BIOS but I have no idea how to flash it without the floppy drive.

Create a USB boot disc.

Just clear out the case and heatsinks with a vacuum cleaner. I'ld also take a look at adding a fan infront of the hard drive if possible or possibly moving it (if it's the only drive put it in the most central mounting for better cooling).
