I agree, last christmas was nuts, this year amazon has beat steam imo

so far i had a great haul

Dragon age 2 $4.99 d2d

Total War Shogun 2 $5.02 gamersgate

Mass effect 1+2 $10 steam

Dungeon Defenders $1.99 amazon

Just cause 2 $4.99 amazon (missed out amazons deal which is $2)

Although I "used" to like D2D, they are selling to Gamefly and you guys should read up on what's going on. I wouldn't buy from there just yet. But Amazon.com has matched Steam on almost every level, imho, except only they don't have an integrated gaming application like Steam. But let's keep it that way so the competition is tight. Steam could always use healthy competition so they don't ever stay complacent. Amazon, on the other hand, always has great deals. I've purchased more games from Amazon.com than Steam, and with Amazon, I also buy physical about 25% of the time. :)

Regarding D2D: You could buy it.. and just make a back up copy. Problem solved. Just always make sure to keep one copy, vanilla and clean. That way you don't have to worry if D2D doesn't let you ever download that one license game again.

I picked up Tropico 4 off of Amazon for $4.99. Although I wish it could be activated on Steam, for that price (88% off!) I can deal with it.
